We asked the Star readers which rules they have found the most confusing over the past 10 months.

Many readers mentioned the confusion surrounding support bubbles.

Marie Newell said: “With all the blended families and people living alone it is difficult to establish the boundaries of who can go where and who with.”

Reader Rowan Colver said: “I think the word ‘bubble’ could have been misleading and support companion would have been clearer.”

Becky Goodwin has struggled with a variety of the new restrictions that have been placed on peoples lives.

She said: “I can be in close contact to a colleague in the office but can’t sit and have a coffee with that same person in my own garden.“My 10 year old is off school but my three year old remains at nursery.“All non essential businesses are closed apart from non essential businesses where you can’t work from home then you can still go to work.”

Paul Snape said: “I can go to work and go in customers houses all day long with PPE on.“Possibly up to 10 different addresses a day but I can’t go and see family and friends even if I was wearing the same PPE.

Some readers have felt confusion over the new restriction of exersizing locally during the third national lockdown.

So Chun Hei said: “What is considered a local area?“In my runs, I often go to Derbyshire and back because that's the most convenient route.“But I live in South Yorkshire, so is that considered as local area or not?”

However a portion of our readers said they haven’t found the rules confusing at all.

Sam Wallace said: “I don’t find any rules confusing.”It’s really simple, people transmit a deadly virus - keep away from others as much as possible.”

A sentiment shared by Duncan Strafford.

He said: “There is no confusion.“It’s a very simple message.”But people ask what is meant by the word lockdown to justify their own agendas.”

Diana Heaton: “Surely it's straight forward only go out for essentials, wear a mask and social distance at all times.”
