The Star understands that terms have been agreed with the 22-year-old former Aston Villa an, and that – if all goes well – an announcement could well be made at some point today.

Green, who has been a free agent since leaving Villa last year, is set to undergo a medical with the Owls at some point today, although that will be if the weather permits given the heavy snowfall in Sheffield over the last few hours.

It’s expected that the wide player will commit to a deal at S6 that will go beyond the end of the current season, though the exact length of the contract agreed is as yet unknown.

Having come through the youth ranks at Villa, the bulk of Green’s senior game time has come in the Championship, but he does have a couple of Premier League appearances to his name and also spent a spell in League One.

Wednesday are still on the lookout for a new manager to replace Tony Pulis at the club, but with Green having been on their radar for some time it is likely that the club saw an opportunity to bring in a young attacker on reasonable terms and took their chance.

It is unknown where Green will undergo his medical ahead of his proposed Owls switch, but he will certainly add a new option to the club’s attack should the deal get done.
