Sheffield travel update: Buses stuck and cars crash as heavy snow causes chaos

Heavy snow is causing havoc on Sheffield’s roads this morning, with buses reportedly ‘stuck’, multiple vehicle crashes and dozens of public transport services affected.

There are reports of several car crashes on Carr Road in Deepcar as well as on School Hill as motorists battle tough weather conditions.

A van has also reportedly skidded into a tree on Palm Street in Walkley.

The 52 bus service which serves the area has been affected, with poor driving conditions reported on several roads in the neighbourhood.

Motorists have also reported dangerous driving conditions on several other city roads, including Newman Road, Blackstock Road and Daniel Hill, Upperthorpe.

Sheffield is braced for up to ten hours of heavy snow today.

Service 25 - Woodhouse - Bradway - Not using Chadwick Road. Diverting via Nodder Road in both directions. Terminating at Mother Redcap. Not serving Spa Lane loop.
