Stagecoach suspended its bus services earlier because of treacherous road conditions.

A number of buses are stuck in the snow on Sheffield streets, with incidents in Handsworth, Meersbrook and Crosspool among those reported.

The tram network is also affected this afternoon with Stagecoach Supertram suspending blue and purple route services because of a large number of abandoned and stuck vehicles blocking the tracks.

Its Yellow route and tram train services are still operating, but the company is warning passengers to expect delays, alterations and cancellations.

Earlier today, South Yorkshire Police urged people not to travel and said Thorncliffe Road in Chapeltown was closed in both directions.
