Sheffield residents urged to lock doors after burglar 'let themselves in' while victims were inside

People in Sheffield have been urged to make sure their doors are locked, after a burglar snuck in while the victims were still inside

Police are investigating a burglary in the Deepcar area where a criminal entered a home through an unlocked back door while the victims were still inside the house.

In a post to Facebook, Sheffield North West Neighbourhood Police Team reminded people to make sure their doors and windows are locked to prevent further crime.

The force said: “We are currently investigating a burglary in Deepcar, where the offender has let themselves in through the back door, whilst the victims were inside the house.

"Please do not make it easy for them, lock your doors and windows.

"Let's work together to deter the offender and make the approach to burglaries proactive rather than reactive!”
