These photos take you back to 1962 and life as it was around Sheffield.
They capture the best of times, like children splashing in the lido or cheerfully crowding onto a roundabout.
And they show some of the toughest moments, including the devastating hurricane that swept through the city, leaving hundreds homeless.
While the Beatles don’t feature, another of the decade’s biggest pop stars, Cliff Richard, is pictured backstage at Sheffield City Hall.
Elsewhere, holidaymakers are seen waiting for their train at the old Sheffield Victoria railway station; staff are pictured rolling out the barrels at Tennants Exchange Brewery; and the Owls and the Blades are shown battling it out on the pitch at Bramall Lane.
The lost landmarks in this retro gallery include the Wicker Picture Palace, Sheffield Royal Infirmary and The Nelson pub at Moorhead.
Roberts Brothers, Cockaynes and Cole Brothers, when it was still at the bottom of Fargate, are just some of the much-missed shops from the early 60s featured in this trip down memory lane.
Do these photos bring back any memories for you, and what do you think about how life has changed since the 1960s?
