A South Yorkshire pub being broken into in broad daylight and a teenage burglary gang are set to feature in tonight’s episode of police reality TV show 999: What’s Your Emergency.

The Channel 4 show focusing on South Yorkshire Police has become a hit with viewers and tonight’s show will focus on youth crime and how young males can lead each other into criminality.

The programme shows how what may start as youthful pranks can easily progress to committing offences.

Tonight's programme, which goes out at 9pm, will see officers investigating a report of youths breaking into a pub in broad daylight and apprehending a group of 15-year-olds detained on suspicion of burglary.

Previous episodes have dealt with the fear of crime while last week’s harrowing episode focused on sex offences and the impact on the victims.

Scenes for the programme were shot in Sheffield and Doncaster last year ahead of the coronavirus pandemic.
