Drivers have been asked to allow extra time for their journeys, with 5.2 miles of congestion on the approach to junction 35.

A diversion is in place via the M18, A6182, A18 and A630.

The pothole was discovered this morning but just the one lane was initially closed as emergency works were carried out, with the northbound carriageway only being fully closed this afternoon.
