Police issue parking tickets near Rother Valley entrance on Sheffield estate

Tickets have been issued to motorists caught parking on roundabouts or too close to junctions near to an entrance to Rother Valley Country Park.

They were doled out by South Yorkshire Police traffic officers patrolling the Sothall estate in Sheffield following complaints about dangerous parking.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We regularly have complaints about the parking around Rother Valley Country Park and it's easy to see why.

“All of these vehicles parked on the junctions of the roundabout or within 10 metres of the junction have been issued tickets this morning.

“This sort of inconsiderate parking causes problems for residents and other road users.

“There is a large car park for the Country Park, the cost of which supports it and is cheaper than a parking fine.

“Please park responsibly as the local neighbourhood team and ourselves will continue to enforce it.”

Parking problems have also been reported to Sheffield City Council.
