Police and National Crime Agency raid homes in Sheffield in crackdown on drugs and organised crime

Homes across Sheffield and Rotherham have been raided today as part of an investigation into organised crime and the supply of drugs.

Teams from South Yorkshire Police were joined by the National Crime Agency for a series of coordinated raids at seven addresses.

Search warrants were granted under the Misuse of Drugs Act in relation to ongoing investigations into organised crime and drug supply.

At an address on Thorpe Drive, Waterthorpe, Sheffield, a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and the production of cannabis.

He remains in custody this afternoon.

Raids were also carried out in Broomhall, Beighton, Halfway and the city centre in Sheffield, as well as Thrybergh and Eastwood in Rotherham.

Anyone with information on those involved in the supply of drugs, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
