Splinters Theatre Group’s production of Barry Manilow’s musical, based on his classic hit song, will have plenty of glitz and glamour.
In the story, aspiring songwriter Stephen is writing a tune telling the story of Lola. Fresh off the plane, she arrives in New York with showbiz aspirations. Bartender/composer Tony falls in love with her and helps her become a Copa girl. Lola, of course, attracts the amorous attentions of Rico.
Directed by Dan Storey, this show features toe-tapping num-bers including Just Arrived, Dancing Fool and, of course, the title song.
The show also features the youngest cast for the company to date in its 29th year, with the majority under 21, including Emily Wilson as Lola.
