Director and writer Ellie said: 'It came from when I was training at the National Centre for Circus Arts and saw what were the roles for female circus artists. Lots of show have all-male casts.

'Or we wear the pretty red dress and get thrown around by the men. When I was at circus school there were 19 women and one man. I thought, where are all these amazing circus performers going?'

Ellie reckons the reason is circus is an enclosed world with lots of family acts that have been going for generations.

She said: 'The #metoo movement came after we created the show but it really links to that '“ how are women treated in the industry and how can we do better? We're asking those questions in a fun and entertaining acrobatic circus show.'

No Show is at Theatre Deli, Eyre Street, Sheffield on Satirday and Sunday, October 6 and 7. Bookings at
