Police in Sheffield say they have identified two men being sought over an alleged attack outside a nightclub, following a public appeal.

Two men suffered facial injuries in an assault by two other men near Code nightclub, on Eyre Street, in the city centre, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Detectives investigating the incident earlier today issued images of two men wanted in connection with the reported attack, which happened as the two victims were waiting for a taxi on Friday, March 31.

Police said this afternoon that both men had now been identified.

They thanked people for sharing the appeal, and said their enquiries continued.
