Have your say

This was the scene after a car went up in flames on a busy road in Sheffield this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on the A57 Mosborough Parkway, close to Sheffield Parkway on Friday just after 3pm.

Police, the ambulance service and firefighters attended the fire, on the southbound lanes heading towards Crystal Peaks.

One witness said the car had caught alight and the bonnet was 'totally fried'.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said it was called at 3.01pm and sent one engine from Birley fire station.

She said the fire was believed to have started accidentally and no one had been injured.
