A CCTV appeal has been launched after a stabbing at a Sheffield takeaway left a man seriously injured.

A 21-year-old man was stabbed a number of times by an unknown male assailant in an attack at a KFC in Queens Road, near the city centre, where he had been ordering food.

He was taken to hospital with serious stab injuries, following the assault on Sunday, March 12, at around 9.40pm, and is now recovering at home.

South Yorkshire Police today issued this CCTV image as they launched a fresh appeal for information.

Police said the man pictured is believed to hold 'vital information', and they have appealed for anyone who recognises him to get in touch.

No arrests have yet been made despite what police said had been 'numerous' enquiries, including circulating CCTV to all Sheffield officers and liaising with a wide range of partner agencies.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or email enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk, quoting incident number 1262 of March 12. You can also pass information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
