An online bottle shop selling craft beers has been launched by the team behind a popular Sheffield market and bar – and it's delivering for free

Spring Yard Bottle Shop is owned by the organisers of the city’s Peddler street food market who also run the Factory Floor venue that opened last year.

The new venture is based on Burton Road in Neepsend, where Peddler and Factory Floor can also be found in the former home of manufacturing firm Turton Springs.

Unlike previous lockdowns, pubs, bars and restaurants are not allowed to supply alcohol to take away or on a click-and-collect basis – so for now Spring Yard Bottle Shop is an online-only affair that will deliver directly to customers.

Spring Yard is described by its bosses as a ‘friendly neighbourhood emporium of the best bottles in town’.

“Beer, cider, wine and homemade soda – Spring Yard Bottle Shop has it all and is here to keep the people of Sheffield lubricated throughout lockdown and beyond,” the team said.

“Fronted by the handsome faces of the Peddler Market crew, Spring Yard Bottle Shop offers a new take on your standard beer shop.

"This team of lovable rogues and misfits have spent years tirelessly and selflessly ‘researching’ the best booze around. They’ve swigged and sloshed their way around the globe, sampling the best craft beer available. Now they are ready to share their knowledge and wisdom with the people of Sheffield.”

The shop will dispatch ales nationwide. To celebrate the launch, free delivery is available with no minimum spend to all Sheffield postcodes until the end of this month.

Beers available include Huckster Cryo IPA, a collaboration with Abbeydale Brewery that uses cryo hops, an ingredient prepared with cryogenic processing technology with the aim of boosting flavour. Other drinks are on offer from Buxton Brewery, Neepsend Brew Co and Hogan’s Cider.

Peddler is, during normal circumstances, one of Sheffield’s busiest events – every month, hundreds of people are drawn to Burton Road to enjoy street food, craft ales, cocktails and more.

Factory Floor, meanwhile, was billed in 2020 as offering a ‘unique’ experience unlike anywhere else in the country, as its interior incorporates a laboratory-style ‘drip infusion’ system to mix refreshments in a specific way.
