Oli McBurnie's admission about Sheffield United's upcoming fixtures against West Ham, Fulham and Co.

United fell 12 points behind 17th-placed Burnley after the weekend's results, which saw the Blades lose 2-1 at home to Chelsea despite another spirited display against Thomas Tuchel's star-studded side.

United were again architects of their own downfall, with an error from Kean Bryan leading to Aaron Ramsdale fouling Timo Werner for the winning penalty.

And McBurnie, whose side return to Premier League action next Monday against West Ham after Wednesday night's FA Cup clash with Bristol City, admitted: "The overriding feeling is disappointment. We were comfortable for most of the game, we felt solid in the shape, and we had moments when we could have hurt them, but we didn't capitalise on them.

"The performance was good, and that side is pleasing, but we need to start picking up points.

"It's something for us to build on, but we need to win games. We had moments when we could hurt them but they had players who could do that to us too.

"I don't know how many saves Rammers had to make, but I wouldn't say it was a lot. But they were clinical when they got the chances."

United can seal their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals with victory over Championship side City on Wednesday.

"The boys have played well in the cup, with some good results, and you can't beat that winning feeling, no matter what competition it's in," the Scottish international added.
