Pearson was one name linked with the Owls job for some time following Garry Monk’s exit and then Tony Pulis’, but it was always thought that it was a long shot given the fact that he’s previously said he would not fancy the job due to his proximity to the area.

Hide AdIt was confirmed on Monday evening that he has officially joined Bristol City as their new manager, and will take over following tomorrow night’s game against Middlesbrough.
The club’s chairman, Jon Lansdown, said on their official website, “Nigel gives us the leadership and direction we need to lift the players’ confidence and to turn our form around.
“The initial appointment is until the end of the season, when we will re-assess the situation, hopefully with a view to the long term. However, the immediate priority for Nigel and the coaching team is to stop the current bad run and move us back up the table.”
For Wednesday, the future of their managerial position remains very much in the air as Neil Thompson continues his role on an interim basis, and only Dejphon Chansiri knows whether there is a plan to change that or keep him in charge until the end of the season.
