THESE are the latest stripy residents at Doncaster’s Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Zebras Zeus and Tarragon have moved into the park in Branton to double the breed’s numbers there to four.

Both are just a year old, making them the same age as the park’s youngest zebra, Clive. Zeus came to Yorkshire Wildlife Park from Marwell Zoo in Hampshire and Tarragon came from Africa Alive in Norfolk.

Director Cheryl Williams said: “They have settled down well in the African Plains. There are now four Chapman’s zebra at the park. They are sharing the reserve with the ankole cattle, ostrich and Lechwe antelope.”

Ms Williams said Easter period had given the park its busiest April since it first opened.

She said: “The visitors and animals were enjoying the sunshine and warm temperatures and, when the weather is good, there is always a happy atmosphere. We are looking forward to the next Bank Holiday weekend this week.”
