FROM abracadabra to stockings and suspenders...

A Sheffield burlesque dancer is set to, er, whip up something tasty when she appears on hit Channel Four show Come Dine With Me next month.

But Rachel Lightfoot, aka Deadly Nightshade, won’t be seen doing any cooking at all.

The 27-year-old of Ecclesall was hired for the show – which sees five contestants compete for £1,000 by each hosting a dinner party – to provide surprise entertainment at one of the gatherings.

She was called in because one of the contestants wanted to ensure the food wasn’t the only thing that sizzled at her party.

“It was a bit ridiculous,” says the performer who runs Sheffield’s Secrets Of The Boudoir club nights. “We had to hide in the bedroom until after the guests had finished eating when we performed for them in the dining room.

But it was my TV debut so it’s all good.

“I got the call because it’s a friend of a friend. It was fun.”

The show was recorded in Worcestershire and will be aired in February.

It follows on from last week’s five shows which were all held in Sheffield and which saw the city’s Labour party chairman Paul Wood scoop the £1,000 by cooking up a seafood cocktail, venison and baked Alaska.
