However, the Sheffield Civic Remembrance Parade will be on Sunday, November 13.

This year marks the centenary of the first day of the Battles of the Somme (1.7.16) when almost the whole of Sheffield City Battalion - known as “Sheffield Pals”, were killed or injured.

The theme of the Parade will reflect this, including a piper playing a lament during the presenting of the official wreaths.

The Parade will assemble on Holly Street, towards the rear of City Hall at 10.30, ready to march on to the Cenotaph at 10.50.

Please note that there is an enclosure for veterans wheelchair bound, and those with walking difficulties. Stewards will direct those who qualify.

It will be announced on the day that members of the public, not taking part in the Parade, but wishing to lay a wreath, may do so - but not until after the Parade has marched off.

A good turn out is requested as we remember the fallen. Thank you.
