Regular incidents

Have your say

I see once again there has been an incident, where a rock has been thrown at a Northern train.

I recall the days, when there was no railway station at Swinton, Goldthorpe or Thurnscoe.

There were regular incidents of the same nature.

The area was described as deprived.

I would suggest that the act of throwing rocks at a train was not only a mindless act of vandalism, but also a demonstration of the fact there is no station at Kilnhurst and that local Northern trains on their way to Meadowhall, Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds etc, should stop there.

A new station would provide further opportunities, not only for young people but everybody in Kilnhurst.

40 years ago, Kilnhurst had two stations on two lines.

The two routes still exist.

I cannot see why if a HS2 is being considered, and a new park and ride station for Rotherham at Parkgate as well, why Kilnhurst cannot have a station.
