It’s that time of year again when the students start moving out, hopefully with good degrees and decent jobs to go to.
I wish them well and will welcome the new intake next term.
I’m now going to get on my soapbox – please students, dispose of your unwanted items responsibly.
I have seen perfect household items dumped on the pavement, kitchen tools, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc. Also electrical items, computer monitors, irons, kettles etc.
I live in Broomhill and this area, along with Crookes up the road is awash with charity shops that would be delighted to receive these items.
There are also a lot of homeless charities that are always in need of household items.
Even if electrical items are broken they can be reconditioned or salvaged for spare parts.
As you move on, hopefully to a better life, by being more thoughtful you may improve someone’s life who is less fortunate than you.
Take care and thanks for choosing Sheffield, we’re not a bad bunch, are we?
