HE works at Sheffield City College and she is a student at Hallam University - but these two education types have proven there’s beauty to go with their brains.
The pair - Marcus Bowden and Stephanie Shemeld - were winners of the inaugural Sheffield’s Next Top Model competition, a city-wide contest to find two catwalk stars.
They beat hundreds of entrants to be rewarded with a year-long contract with Sheffield’s DK Modelling firm.
“I’m still in shock,” says Stephanie, 21, of Gleadless, after triumphing at the live final at Walkabout, in Carver Street. “I was quite geeky at school and I entered this to prove I’m more confident now but I never thought I’d win.”
Neither did Marcus.
“I only entered as a laugh,” says the 25-year-old support worker of Upperthorpe.
Bless them. So modest - although their ambitions are anything but.
He wants to work with Prada one day, she’d like to do London Fashion Week.
From Walkabout to a walk about with Kate Moss, it seems. Their beauty (and brains) could see them go far.
