Some time ago through The Star I tried to encourage Bob, my old school classmate, (Longley School), to write a letter to the Star which he regularly reads.
Like many thousands of other local football supporters down at the Lane and at Hillsborough, over many years now, Bob has watched his lifelong team with unrewarded optimism.
Such supporters really are the true backbone of our so-called beautiful game which mainly lavishes most rewards to the players.
For Bob and all the long-suffering supporters let us hope that the recent improvements continue and justly reward their suffering of recent years with positive results and a brighter future.
What do our supporters and families think?
How about you Bob?
