Over a number of years where More Hall Lane meets the busy A6102, about half-a-mile from Wharncliffe Side, there have been a number of nasty accidents, due to a stonewall blotting out visibility as cars pull out into the main road.
This has been pointed out to the powers-that-be but nothing has ever been done to improve the safety there.
Also since the start of this year I have witnessed three scary near misses there.
Then a few nights ago, I was on a bus heading towards Deepcar when a white van pulled out at this spot, and our bus very nearly collided with this van. Our driver did a first-class job in avoiding a dreadful collision.
Are the powers-that-be waiting for a serious multiple pile-up before they decide to do anything?
This spot is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. People’s lives are more important than a very old stone wall that is clearly hindering safety. Get rid of the wall regardless of cost. The safety of commuters is paramount.
