IT’S not quite the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal but you get the idea...
This wonderful picture of an island in the Venetian lagoon is just one to be featured at Sheffield Photographic Society’s ‘Sight And Sound’ Christmas show.
Members are offering amateur snappers the chance to learn how to brighten up their digital image displays with music and narrative.
The show offers 18 sequences to take visitors on a tour from Sheffield Canal to the exotic and far-flung – all brought to life with accompanying sound.
Venetian Lagoons, Swiss Alps, Australia, India and Sri Lanka all feature.
Society members have shown sequences worldwide with several winning awards.
If you are interested in photography or want to be inspired to spice up those holiday images, this is the show to see. Refreshments and mince pie are included at St Luke’s Church, Blackbrook Road, Lodge Moor, this Saturday at 7.30pm – with 50 per cent of proceeds going to Cavendish Cancer Care.
Tickets £5.Tel: 2303980 or 2884944.
The Diary was sorry to hear that Meg Jullien, for many years the driving force behind the society, has fallen ill. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
