SHEFFIELD United fans, have your alibis ready - a serial killer is on the loose and he’s just murdered three Wednesday players.

This is the scenario in a new comic book by a city teacher turned illustrator.

Laugh: Football crazy.

Laugh: Football crazy.

Football Crazy, by Craig Daley, sees the fictional Owls men slashed to death. Unless, that is, you buy the Blades edition when it’s Bramall Lane stars who fall victim.

Whodunnit? The Diary can exclusively reveal it’s neither Milan Mandaric or Kevin McCabe.

“The players and managers are completely fictional in both versions,” says Craig, a woodwork teacher of Heavygate Road, Crookes. “Although there are a few cameo appearances from people like Christa Ackroyd, John Terry and Wayne Bridge.”

The Star also makes an appearance, as do - just to add to the glamour - Heeley Baths and Manor Lodge.

“I’m on a mission to turn Sheffield into the UK’s version of Salem,” says Craig, who featured on this page previously for another city-based comic, The Attercliffe Prowler.

“This is a murder mystery with a sense of humour. It’s Roy Of The Rovers meets Silence Of The Lambs, and I’m hoping it will keep the reader - be they Owl or Blade - guessing until the last few pages.”

The comic is available on CD-ROM. To see shops where it is on sale visit
