NO wonder former Sheffield United player Leon Britton never settled down in South Yorkshire.
As if playing under four managers in six months wasn’t hard enough, the 28-year-old also had to cope with being carjacked - by a dog.
It seems the midfielder, who returned to old club Swansea this month, was driving his jeep on Bonfire Night when he spotted the lost animal. Concerned for its welfare, he pulled over and got out of the motor - only to see the dog duck past him, dive into the vehicle and jump into the passenger seat.
Our kind-hearted Leon, pictured, shut the driver’s door to stop it escaping again and walked round the car - before watching in horror as the dog stepped on the automatic lock.
“I’m pleased to say he didn’t then drive off,” says Leon. “But in the end I had to smash a window.”
EVER wanted to find out more about Sheffield’s Karen community?
They come from Burma if that’s a start, and the Karen Community Association is inviting people to come and question them about their culture during a special talk next month.
Takes place at Quaker Meeting House in St James Street on Thursday, February 24, 7.30pm.
