The sounds of brass will ring out across Worksop on Saturday 12th October at a Prom in the Park event.

The concert at the Oasis Community Centre and Church, off Longfellow Drive, in Kilton, will see Thurcroft Welfare Band perform in the gardens.

And the first 400 people through the gates get a free hog roast. It starts at 3pm.

The event is totally free as well, and organisers hope to attract people from Kilton and wider Worksop to share the afternoon with them.

As well as the mighty brass band, which is always a popular attraction, there will be lots more on offer - especially for children.

“We will have a children’s entertainer performing three sets, a Punch and Judy show, plate spinning, and a bouncy castle,” said organiser John Malvern.

“And it will all be topped off with a fireworks display at the end.”

“We are expecting a large and lively family atmosphere. We hope people will come along and support us.”

“People are encouraged to bring their picnic rugs, deck chairs, gazebos in case it rains - the show will go on, even if the weather isn’t good.”

“And perhaps bring your own food in case we have a huge demand for the hog roast.”
