YOUNG Sheffield ice skaters have been showing off their skills in Europe and picking up awards for their efforts on the rink.

The skaters, who all train at iceSheffield in Attercliffe, travelled to Slovenia to compete in the Dragon Trophy competition.

Wincobank figure skater Peter James Hallam brought home the junior men’s bronze after scoring 119 points, and Lee Booker also came third in the novice men’s category with 76 points.

Katie Powell finished fourth in the junior ladies, scoring 110, while Rachel Barley came 17th, one place after Emily Hayward’s 63 points.

Mandy Parker, manager of iceSheffield, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many skaters who train here making an impact across Europe and being rewarded for all their hard work and hours they put in at the rink.”
