Young Derbyshire man found dead on railway track

Jordan Feek, 22, of Adlington Avenue, Wingerworth, died on Saturday, January 16.

His body was discovered on track south of Chesterfield between Mill Lane, Grassmoor, and Bridge Street, New Tupton.

Coroner James Newman told Chesterfield coroners’ court on Tuesday: “Mr Feek was identified by his fingerprints.

“We’re awaiting a full post-mortem report to establish the cause of Mr Feek’s death and a file from British Transport Police about the circumstances surrounding his death.”

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances over his death.

Mr Newman adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.

Mr Feek’s obituary in this week’s Derbyshire Times states: “Born in Chesterfield, he was a lifelong resident of the local area.

“Jordan was a welder and was also setting up an internet selling business.

“He loved motorbikes, music and animals. He enjoyed socialising with family and friends.

“He leaves his mum and dad, brother Zack, sister Melissa and girlfriend Faridat.”

Mr Feek’s funeral service will be held at All Saints Church, Wingerworth, at 1pm on Wednesday, February 3.
