Young can help in library fun

LIBRARIES in Rotherham are looking for enthusiastic young volunteers to help with their annual summer reading challenge for children.

The challenge asks youngsters aged four to 11 to read six books over the holidays.

Now volunteers aged 12 to 16 are needed to help little ones get excited about reading and support craft activities.

Mark Heaton, library group manager, said: “Becoming a young volunteer will give you the opportunity to meet new friends and, apart from being great fun, the experience will help to build your confidence and skills for the future.”
