Yorkshire Wildlife Trust signs deal to manage some rural Barnsley sites
The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will manage several countryside sites around Barnsley thanks to a partnership deal with the borough council.
The sites include Dearne Valley Country Park, Barnsley Main, Littleworth Park and Carlton Marsh.
The agreement will allow the trust to apply for external funding to manage and develop the sites, helping to make sure they are enhanced and sustained for the future.
Other anticipated benefits include the development of volunteer countryside stewardship.
