Worst plant can be winner
THE weather may have been against them this year but one Sheffield show has found a novel way for even the worst hit gardeners to grab a prize.
Organisers of Heeley Autumn Show are calling all allotment holders, bakers, home preserve specialists, and children to join in and have even started a category for the most slug or snail ravaged plant or vegetable.
The event takes place at Heeley City Farm on Richards Road from noon to 4pm on Sunday September 30 and other sections include organic fruits and vegetables, compost, home made bread, preserves, pickles, cakes and vegetable monsters.
Activities on the day include family crafts and farm trails, Energy Centre tours, organic vegetable growing and composting advice..
