Carl Whiteley, 36, was born and raised in Crowle but moved to the Lancashire city seven years ago to start a career in the film industry and also runs high profile events.
After producing an award winning Star Wars parody film in 2014 that had Hollywood crew attached, Carl ran Manchester’s first Star Wars fan convention which saw 10,000 people attend. But not settling for that he teamed up with a new business partner and have now organised an event that has blown fans away.
“I started work on ‘For the Love of the Force’, an independent Star Wars fan convention early this year. I gave up my job to start my own production company and haven’t looked back. We are building full size scout walkers, X- wings, props sets and so much more.
“It’s great fun and people are travelling from all over the world.”
