A serving policeman based in Worksop has been cleared of misconduct in a public office after a three-week Crown Court trial.

Chris Young, aged 47, had denied committing misconduct by behaving in a sexually inappropriate way while serving with Nottinghamshire Police between 2003 and 2012.

Jurors heard that PC Young, who also works in Hucknall, was arrested in 2012 after a woman alleged that he had asked her to expose herself.

In a statement issued after the conclusion of the case at Derby Crown Court, a spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “In conjunction with the Crown Prosecution Service, a case was put before a jury, who today have found PC Chris Young not guilty of misconduct in a public office.”
