Tenants in South Yorkshire have received new, energy efficient heating systems in an investment worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Rykneld Homes, which manages housing for North East Derbyshire Council, has replaced the old, warm air heating system in 20 flats at Rawlins Court, Coal Aston.
The properties have now been fitted with A-rated combi-boilers and radiators. The new heating system will help tenants to keep their homes warmer and use less energy – saving on bills and supporting the environment.
The work was carried out by contractors Vinshire Plumbing and Heating, and tenants said they were ‘delighted’ with the results.
Beryl Sampson, who has been a tenant for three years, said: “The work done is absolutely excellent.
“The old warm air heating was expensive to use and not very efficient.
“We are so pleased Rykneld Homes agreed to replace it.”
Tenants at the flats were treated to a buffet lunch after completion of the work and have also been given a new seat in the communal garden.
