Workers win the youth vote

TWO Police Constables and one PCSO Supervisor in Rotherham have qualified to become youth workers.

PC Paul Gray, PC Jeannine Waller and PCSS Paul Newman will all work in partnership with Rotherham Council youth services on operations and in youth centres throughout the area.

The training took s year to complete and covered topics of safeguarding, engaging young people, active citizenship, equality and diversity.

PC Gray and PCSS Newman have already arranged courses since, including Alcohol Awareness.

PC Gray said: “This makes me more aware of the problems and issues faced by young people. The experience gained on the course will allow staff to better help and safeguard young people.”
