Worker injured in factory blast

A FACTORY worker was taken to hospital after an explosion in Sheffield.

The 43-year-old was working at London and Scandinavian, Fullerton Road, Templeborough, Rotherham, when powders were being mixed for aluminium caught fire and damaged electrical equipment.

Police said he was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital with ‘slight injuries’.

Firefighters called out to deal with the incident at 7.45am on Tuesday said the other employees had already been evacuated.
