Manager Louise Broadhead said: "We are all very happy with the Ofsted rating we received and proud that Chantrey House provides a nurturing, safe and fun setting for the children.

"The staff have worked extremely hard to ensure that the best possible care is given to the children and we continue striving to support children’s positive outcomes.

"As a team, we are delighted that our hard work has been acknowledged by Ofsted and that families who attend Chantrey House feel satisfied and happy with the service we provide.

"The nursery is a small but friendly setting within the Woodseats community. Getting rated ‘outstanding’ is a huge achievement and I plan to motivate the staff team to continue working hard, ensuring we remain at this high level of care."

Inspectors praised the 'inspirational manager and staff team' who are highly committed to ensuring children and their families receive the very best care and support for learning.

They found children who have special educational needs or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language are given substantial support.

Partnerships with parents were also praised, as was the good behaviour of children.

Staff were described as 'excellent' role models for the youngsters, listening carefully to children, respecting their views and valuing their opinions.

To improve further the nursery must build on the already excellent monitoring of the progress made by different groups of children, and evaluate the effectiveness that any new strategies implemented have to maintain outstanding outcomes for children.
