Woodhead Pass reopens after 'serious collision'

The Woodhead Pass has reopened after a serious collision closed it in both directions earlier today.

The incident took place at around 3pm this afternoon when two cars collided between Holmes Moss and Dunford Bridge.

The road was closed for several hours between the A57 Gun Inn and the A616 Flouch roundabout.

The air ambulance attended as did the police, fire and ambulance services.

Three casualties were tended to by paramedics, and one person had to be cut out of their vehicle.

The road reopened at around 5pm.
