Woodhead Pass due to re-open
Snow has been cleared from the Wopodhead Pass and gritters are treating the road ahead of it re-opening again today.
Both the Woodhead Pass and Snake Pass were closed by the authorities earlier this morning because of snow and ice causing treacherous driving conditions for motorists.
A Highways England spokesman said the Woodhead Pass is in the process of being re-opened.
"Our gritters have finished clearing snow and treating the carriageway and are now in the process of reopening the A628 Woodhead Pass in both directions."
