Women and girls in Sheffield have been called upon by a local charity to get involved with the latest stage of its campaign to get more females to do regular physical exercise.

Sheffield City Trust is putting on a ‘This Girl Can Get Active’ event at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield on Coleridge Road, Attercliffe, on Sunday, July 5.

Three brand new classes are available - Sh’Bam dancing,a Body Vive gentle workout and a pilates and yoga-based Body Balance class.

There will also be fitness testing and exercise advice on offer.

The national Sport England ‘This Girl Can’ campaign aims to break down the barriers to female participation in sport and physical exercise.

Children aged five and above can take part in activities.
