Woman threatened with knife during raid of her house in Rotherham

A woman had a necklace ripped from her neck during a burglary in which she was threatened with a knife.

Three men broke into her home in Woodland Drive, North Anston, Rotherham, after sneaking in through an unlocked door.

They grabbed a gold curb chain from around their victim’s neck and ran off towards Woodland Avenue.

One of the men was white, aged in his early 20s, slim and around 5ft 11ins tall.

The second was white, also in his early 20s and of a large build.

The third was white, slim and about 6ft 2ins tall.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “It is reported that at about 10.20pm on Tuesday, March 1, three men entered a house in Woodland Drive through an unlocked door.

“One of the men is believed to have been carrying a knife and has threatened the occupant of the house, demanding cash and jewellery.

“The offenders have stolen a gold curb chain from the occupant of the house, before running from the area towards Woodland Avenue. The chain is described as having a cross pendant on it with white stones across.

“No one was injured during the incident.

“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around the time of the incident?”
