Woman sexually assaulted and chased by attacker in Sheffield

A Sheffield woman was sexually assaulted and then chased by her attacker as she tried to escape.

The 19-year-old was walking along a path near Station Road, Halfway, when a teenage boy walking behind her shouted for her to stop as he asked for directions.

She told police officers that the boy, who she believed was around 16 years old, then sexually assaulted her.

The woman ran off but was chased by the boy before he made off towards Killamarsh.

He was of a small build, had dark brown hair and was wearing a navy blue Adidas jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Sergeant Jon Revill said: “This has caused a lot distress to the woman, who had her bottom touched and was chased by the boy who had been walking behind her, and I would like to reassure everyone that we are thoroughly investigating this report and have increased local patrols in the area.

“I am urging anyone who has any information that may be able to assist us with our investigation to please get in touch and report it to police.”
