Woman punched in face by man in Sheffield street

A woman suffered serious facial injuries in an attack in a Sheffield street.

The 24-year-old was attacked by a man as she walked along Shoreham Street, Highfield, with a friend.

She suffered serious injuries to her hip and face, which needed hospital treatment.

CCTV stills released of three men who were on Shoreham Street at the time of the incident led to them being identified and detectives said they are 'assisting police with their investigation' into the attack at 3am on Saturday, October 15.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or was around the area at the time.

"Any piece of information, even if you believe it to be irrelevant, could assist police with their investigation."
