A woman is fighting for life after a collision in Barnsley.

The 38-year-old woman was driving a black Vauxhall Astra along the Dearne Valley Parkway, Goldthorpe, when there was a collision involving a white Daf box van and a white Scania HGV articulated lorry.

Emergency services were alerted to the smash at 1.45pm yesterday.

The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition today.
