Woman fell to ground during mugging in Sheffield

The 60-year-old was walking with her husband along Bellhouse Road, Shiregreen, when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her handbag.

The mugging occurred near to Hartley House Social Club at around 7.50pm on Saturday, January 23.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating following the reported robbery of a 60-year-old woman in Sheffield.

“It is reported that the woman was walking with her husband along Bellhouse Road when an unknown man approached them from behind and grabbed the woman’s handbag from her arm, causing her to fall.

“The woman suffered minor injuries to her hand during the incident.

“Did you see the robbery? Could you help officers?”
