Woman dies and another is left fighting for her life following crash in South Yorkshire

One woman has died and another is fighting for her life in hospital following a crash in South Yorkshire.

A 29-year-old woman died and a 27-year-old was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision between a Citroen C1, a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a concrete mixer lorry on Industry Road, Barnsley, at around 1.40pm.

The driver of the lorry - a 53-year-old man - and the Vectra driver, aged 27, were not injured.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said a road closure will remain in place while investigation work was carried out.
